Optimizing Bandwidth and Storage
To maximize bandwidth efficiency and improve image quality, the DCS-4614EK supports H.265 encoding in addition to H.264 and MJPEG to optimize network bandwidth for better visual quality and recording performance. H.265 can provide up to 50% lower bandwidth and storage requirements vs H.264.

The Vigilance Series of cameras support PoE, meaning a simpler installation. Power and connectivity can be provided over a single ethernet cable. Places which may previously have been considered uncoverable due to lack of power outlet are now on the table.

Power over Ethernet makes surveillance installation simpler, safer and less expensive. The camera has a built-in 802.3af compliant PoE module, allowing for single cable deployment and reducing the need to drill holes or lay additional cabling.
